Donald Gilles, an advertising executive in the well-known agency JWT in London, coined the "Have a Break, Have a Kit Kat" slogan in 1957. It was first aired on television in a UK advertisement in 1958 and has remained the slogan for the brand in the UK and other markets since then. In the US, the brand uses a jingle for television.. Kit Kat (stylised as KitKat in various countries) is a chocolate-covered wafer bar confection created by Rowntree's of York, United Kingdom.It is produced globally by Nestlé (which acquired Rowntree's in 1988), except in the United States, where it is made under licence by the H. B. Reese Candy Company, a division of the Hershey Company (an agreement Rowntree's first made with Hershey in 1970).
