Alex Karev is the former Chief of Surgery at Pacific Northwest General Hospital and former Head of Pediatric Surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. He is the father of twins, Alexis and Eli, with his ex-wife and current partner, Izzie Stevens. He was also married to Jo Wilson before learning about Eli and Alexis. When Alex was seven, he had to start cleaning up his drunk and drug addict..
